My roles in this job is Installation, administration and support.
For supporting I create several script to help administration, monitoring and troubleshoot.
Lucent Network Fault Manager (NFM) (also known as 8925 ISA) software is a unified fault management system that provides proactive, cross-domain surveillance for multi-technology, multi-service and multi-vendor networks in real-time. NFM software collects event data from sources across your network and applies powerful data filtering and an advanced inter-domain correlation functionality to eliminate insignificant messages – reducing the number of alarms you have to deal with by as much as 99%. This helps you quickly identify critical problems and their root causes. NFM software automatically maps the reported fault to the service and the service to the customer. NFM software helps ensure that high QoS is maintained and MTTR is minimized.
The Lucent NFM is run under Solaris.
The installation is done for one of telecommunication company. This application have specific configuration that need to customize by using nfm script a special language specific to use by NFM.
My roles in this job is
- Installation
- Configure, Customize and maintenance for both application and operating system
- Create mediation device to connecting all alarm data to crystall report. This application done by using perl and java. For a database we use mysql
- Integrate NFM with Remedy Trouble Ticket System by create an connector using API from both application
